Compression Springs
custom built for your application
Compression springs are used to offer resistance to applied compression forces and are the most common spring configuration. While the most widely manufactured is a straight cylindrical spring we can also coil conical, barrel or hourglass shapes with variable or consistent pitches. Depending on the application and design, a compression spring may need additional operations to assure optimum performance.
We are often faced with space constraints when designing a spring for our customer so we are forced to push the stress limits of a spring. This usually results in a spring with ground ends and a press operation to remove the set and lower stress levels. Cook Spring maintains a first class grind and set removal department with proprietary equipment that complements our hi-tech machines. This allows us to offer quality solutions for both high and low volume applications.
